Mike shows how to take a flat 2d image in photoshop and generate several different layers.  By using basic Photoshop technics, he shows how to select certain areas of the image and “masks” them out into separate layers.  Once the layers are separated, he then uses After Effects to begin the 3d layering process.  The PSD file is imported as a composition and each individual layer is added to a new composition.  Mike then creates a 3d camera and with simple camera techniques, he turns a flat 2d image into a 3d depth jib/dolly move.

Wow! I’m new to Photoshop, never mind After Effects, but it’s very exciting to see such possibilities…thanks for sharing!
